Después de conocer a fondo el nuevo Audi TT en su versión Coupé, hoy toca conocer sus variantes descapotables, que serán presentadas próximamente en el salón de París. Entre sus formas angulosas, desaparece el techo que nos permitirá disfrutar de la carretera sintiendo el viento en la cabeza.
Respecto a su antecesor es 21 milímetros más corto, aunque la distancia entre ejes ha aumentado 37 milímetros, con unas cifras de 4.177 y 2.505 milímetros, respectivamente. La anchura también se ha reducido en 10 milímetros, quedando en un total de 1.832 mm. La altura es 3 mm inferior que en la generación anterior, con un total de 1.355 milímetros. El coeficiente aerodinámico marca 0,30 con la capota cerrada.
Como buen deportivo, a partir de 120 km/h se desplegará un alerón retráctil del maletero que aumenta así el apoyo aerodinámico del TT Roadster, teniendo así una mejor carga en el eje trasero. La capota estará disponible en color negro, beige y gris, y en esta generación solo pesa 39 kilogramos, 3 kg menos que antes, gracias al uso de materiales como magnesio, aluminio, acero y plástico.
Ésta se podrá accionar hasta velocidades de 50 km/h y completará la tarea de plegado/apertura en tan solo 10 segundos. Además, gracias a su sistema de plegado, no roba espacio de carga en el maletero de 280 litros, lo que es muy de agradecer en un coche de este tipo. Además, está especialmente aislada térmica y acústicamente, ofreciendo unas sensaciones en este aspecto casi iguales que en el coupé. En este nuevo TT Roadster es 6 dB más silenciosa que antes.
Con un peso de únicamente 1320 kg, el Audi TT Roadster cuenta con diversos cambios en el chasis para reducir su peso. Los montantes A han sido fabricados en aluminio, y ocultan en su interior un segundo montante de acero que a su vez contiene un tubo de acero macizo. Las traviesas de acero en forma de V refuerzan las zonas de debajo del motor y del maletero, y conectan los soportes de los ejes. Esto ha sido posible gracias al nuevo Audi Space Frame, en el que se usan aceros de alta resistencia que refuerzan la parte delantera y el habitáculo.
Motores
El TT Roadster y TTS Roadster se ofertarán con tan solo dos motores, pero con distintas escalas de potencia, que en todo caso reducen los consumos de la generación anterior. Además, todos cuentan con sistema Start&Stop de serie y se pueden combinar en opción con el sistema Audi drive select (de serie en el TTS Roadster).
El modelo de entrada lo encontramos con el 2.0 TDI de 184 caballos y 380 Nm de par máximo, cumple con la norma Euro 6 y emite 114 g/km de CO2, con un consumo medio homologado de 4,3 litros cada 100 km.
El siguiente escalón lo encontramos en el 2.0 TFSI, motor que podremos elegir con 230 caballos —o 310 caballos en el TTS con 380 Nm—, con 370 Nm de par. Cuenta con una aceleración de 4,9 segundos en el 0-100 km/h y tiene una velocidad máxima autolimitada a 250 km/h.
Un punto para Audi es que nos permite elegir el TT Roadster con cambio manual, incluso en el TTS Roadster —algo realmente de agradecer viendo que la mayoría de marcas ya no montan cajas de cambio manuales en los modelos más prestacionales—. Opcionalmente en el TT Roadster 2.0 TFSI y TTS Roadster podremos elegir la caja de cambios automática de doble embrague S tronic, que nos permitirá conducir a vela si optamos por el modo efficiency.
Precios y equipamiento
El Audi TT Roadster estará disponible en España durante el último trimestre de 2014 y el Audi TTS Roadster se empezará a vender a principios de 2015. El precio base será de 44.500 euros para el 2.0 TFSI de 230 caballos. Entre el equipamiento de serie encontramos faros de xenón, climatizador y el sistema de infoentretenimiento Audi MMI.
En cuanto a los extras disponibles, disponemos de sistemas de asistencia al conductor, como el Audi side assist, que se encarga de la detección de coches en el ángulo muerto en los adelantamientos —de serie en el 2.0 TFSI y el Audi TTS Roadster—; Audi lane assist para la prevención involuntaria de cambio de carril, o el asistente de aparcamiento para ayudarnos a entrar o salir de una plaza de aparcamiento.
También contamos con el sistema de reconocimiento de señales de tráfico, el MMI navigation con MMI touch, que cuenta con un procesador de nueva generación, comunicación por 4G para Google Earth y Street View, o incluso acceso a Twitter y Facebook.
Con el Audi phone box podremos conectar nuestro teléfono fácilmente al coche y el micrófono del cinturón proporciona una calidad muy superior respecto la clásica situación del salpicadero o el techo. Esto se hace sobretodo para mejorar la captación de nuestra voz con la capota abierta.
El sistema de sonido Bang & Olufsen proporciona 680 vatios de potencia y cuenta con doce altavoces. Las cubiertas especiales de los altavoces se han diseñado en aluminio anodizado. Un LED blanco hace del sistema de sonido algo único incluso por la noche.
