El Citroën C4 estrena el primer motor que cumple la Euro6 del grupo PSA, el e-THP 130 6V

El downsizing es la moda entre los fabricantes automovilísticos. Si en el mundo de las cámaras de fotos ya asistimos hace unos años a la carrera de a ver quién ofrecía más megapíxeles, en los coches actuales vemos a los fabricantes compitiendo por quien es capaz de ofrecer más caballos con la menor cilindrada, y quien es capaz de obtener el consumo más bajo.

Así que Citroën presenta un nuevo integrante a este grupo con una mecánica de nuevo desarrollo, el nuevo e-THP 130. Se trata de un propulsor tricilíndrico de gasolina, turboalimentado que cumple la normativa de emisiones Euro 6 —convirtiéndose así en el primer motor del Grupo PSA en cumplir con dichas exigencias— que será obligatoria dentro de unos meses. Con la tecnología Stop&Start de serie, el primer modelo de la marga gala en montarlo será el Citroën C4.

Nuevo motor e-THP 130 6V de PSA

Estará asociado a la familia PureTech de gasolina, y comparte arquitectura con las versiones atmosféricas 1.0 de 68 cv y 1.2 de 82 cv. A esta arquitectura se le añade el turbo, la inyección directa y la distribución variable, que son capaces de extraer del bloque 130 cv a 5.500 rpm con un par de 230 Nm disponible desde las 1.750 rpm.

Con una cilindrada de 1.2 litros y un cambio manual de 6 velocidades, es capaz de ofrecer un alto agrado de conducción y convertirse en un motor realmente elástico, convirtiéndose en la principal competencia del famoso EcoBoost 1.0 de Ford que entrega 125 caballos. Emite 114 g/km de CO2, 32 g/km menos que su antecesor de 4 cilindros. El consumo homologado es de 4,9 l/100 km en ciclo mixto, mejorando en un 23% la generación anterior en este aspecto, y entregando 10 cv más de potencia.

Mejoras tecnológicas y precios

Este nuevo tricilíndrico de PSA es capaz de conseguir el máximo par desde bajas revoluciones, algo característico tan solo en los diesel hasta hace pocos años. Así pues, gracia a su nuevo turbocompresor capaz de girar a 240.000 rpm, este motor e-THP 130 entrega el 95% de su par a partir de las 1.500 rpm, que se mantiene constante hasta las 3.500 rpm.

El sistema de combustión también se ha mejorado, consiguiendo una inyección de alta presión a 200 bares. Gracias a esto conseguiremos una pulverización óptima del combustible en la cámara de combustión, lo cual se consigue con una posición específica del inyector, la forma del chorro —que emplea tecnología láser—, la gestión de los pulsos de inyección —hasta 3 posibles por combustión— y la presión de la inyección.

El consumo se reduce también gracias a los cambios en la forma de la cámara de combustión, que mejoran la aerodinámica interna de la misma, la cual cuenta con ajuste variable de la admisión y el escape.

Citroën ha aprovechado varias tecnologías de la versión 1.2 VTi atmosférica, pero han hecho importantes mejoras sobre la arquitectura original. Así pues, han conseguido reducir las pérdidas mecánicas en de rozamiento, reduciendo así el consumo de combustible. Esto ha sido posible gracias a las dimensiones del cigüeñal, el descentrado de los cilindros y el uso de una correa de distribución húmeda. El revestimiento de baja fricción DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) se ha utilizado en los ejes de los pistones, los segmentos y los empujadores para limitar los rozamientos. Por último, la bomba de aceite pilotada permite una gestión precisa de la lubricación.

Como vemos, cada vez los motores se hacen más complejos para optimizar los consumos y las emisiones de combustible, cambios que finalmente repercuten en el bolsillo final del cliente, llegando a mantenimientos mucho más costosos y averías infinitamente más caras. ¿Alguien se imagina lo que puede costar sustituir un inyector láser? Como le echemos gasolina de hipermercado seguro que no tarda mucho en obstruirse.

Seguirá extendiéndose en toda la gama Citroën progresivamente, pero actualmente solo podremos elegirlo en los modelos más equipados del C4, en los acabados Collection y Exclusive, desde 18.350 euros y 20.2050 euros, respectivamente. Este motor también está disponible en el Peugeot 308, según hemos podido comprobar en el configurador de Peugeot.
