No he podido evitarlo, he tenido que traéroslo. Creo que no he visto nunca un destrozo semejante pertrechado con maldad y alevosía sobre un coche. Ésto que tenéis en las imágenes, se supone que es un BMW 540i E39, la versión más alta del modelo, con permiso del M5, con motor V8 de 4,4 litros y 286 cv de 1997.
Se trata de un coche que esta a la venta en eBay por nada menos que 10.100 dolares, aproximadamente 7.600 euros. No podemos negar que el trabajo realizado es de calidad, la masilla está bien trabajada, la pintura en buena y en general esta todo bien integrado, pero estéticamente deja mucho que desear por supuesto, desde mi punto de vista.
En el anuncio, el propietario de este coche comenta que ha usado un kit de Hamman, unos faros delanteros de un BMW 745i E65 y los pilotos traseros de un BMW 645i E64. Evidentemente, ha tenido que adaptar todo para poder incorporar estos elementos, pero queda claro que no son componentes que el coche llevara de serie. No cuadran con la línea general y los faros delanteros parecen puestos de cualquier manera.
La zaga también merece un poco de atención. El trabajo realizado para integrar los pilotos de la Serie 6 E63 es de elogiar, pero la estética conseguida “chirría”, no cuadra. Recuerda al BMW Serie 7, al mismo e65 del que proceden los faros delanteros de este 540i, y que sirva como ejemplo que fue el coche más criticado de BMW por su estética.
El habitáculo tampoco se libra de modificaciones, aunque en este caso se han cortado un poco más que con el exterior. Tan solo le han pintado algunas cosas de rojo y le han instalado una Play Station 2 anulando el airbag frontal del pasajero. Desde mi punto de vista, una modificación sin sentido y completamente prescindible. Aunque también es verdad que me parece completamente prescindible todo el trabajo realizado sobre el que creo, es el mejor BMW Serie 5 de todos, o al menos, el más bonito.
Al menos no le veremos por España, pues se encuentra en Estados Unidos, en Rhode Island, donde debe ser la excepción que confirma la regla, pues el tuning estadounidense suele tener mucho más gusto.
