Por suerte o por desgracia, el mundo del automóvil es tan amplio, que intentar abarcarlo por completo es una locura. Marcas, modelos, estilos de coches, procedencias, diseños, mecánica o tecnología… hay tanto y tan interesante, que puedes volverte loco intentando estar al día con todo. Personalmente, hay un sector que me gusta especialmente y es el de los diseñadores externos a las marcas. Llevo algún tiempo siguiendo a varios y soy un auténtico fan de uno en especial, David Obendorfer. Este señor es un artista de los pies a la cabeza y en su haber, cuenta con diseños como el Fiat 127 Concept, el BMW CS Vintage o el Fiat 500 Spyder, cada cual mejor y de los que recomiendo encarecidamente el primero de todos.
Está especializado, o al menos todos sus diseños están enfocados a lo ‘vintage’, a los modelos clásicos reinterpretados con los cánones estéticos y de homologación que tenemos hoy día y ciertamente, los borda. En esta ocasión se a fijado en el Fiat 600, mítico donde los haya, que se encuentra al borde de cumplir sus 60 años, nada menos. Por ello, ha querido rendir homenaje tanto al modelo, nacido en 1955, como sobre todo a su creador, Dante Giacosa, con un diseño que pretende imaginar como sería un Fiat 600 actualmente y además, como podría ser el sustituto del Fiat Punto, modelo al que no le debe quedar mucho entre nosotros viendo la plaga que sufrimos de Fiat 500.
Además, como ocurrió con el Fiat 127 Concept, se ha atrevido con una hipotética versión Abarth del Fiat 600. Me encanta.
Obendorfer, como viene siendo habitual, ofrece algunos detalles del modelo mediante dibujos acotados con sus medidas, destacando la ampliación de su longitud, que pasa de los 3,2 metros originales, hasta los 4 metros, 4.080 mm para ser totalmente exactos. Gana en anchura lógicamente y en batalla, subiendo un par de escalones en cuanto a categoría y empaque.
Con el parecido tan acusado con el actual Fiat 500, parece un coche creado por la propia Fiat y no por un diseñador externo. Llaman muchísimo la atención los intermitentes en las aletas delanteras, así como los pilotos traseros y la capilla cromada para la matrícula trasera. Todo con un espíritu muy vintage y bien integrado. Para gustos las aletas traseras tan marcas y los tiradores de las puertas traseras camuflados.
Lo que si os voy a comentar, es que visitéis su página web, davidobendorfer.com y os deleitéis con sus trabajos. Sobre todo, repito, con el Fiat 127 Concept, uno de los mejores.
