Cuando un preparador recibe una unidad como la que nos ocupa, lo primero que ha de tener en consideración es la base con la que cuenta, y sobre todo su propulsor. Conocer qué mejoras puede recibir para alcanzar grandes dosis de potencia se antoja fundamental. Si la base con la que se ha de trabajar es un motor con un desplazamiento de 5,5 litros, arquitectura V8 y doble sobrealimentación, el resultado no se hará de rogar. Este caso es ejemplo de ello.
El paso de los originales 585 cv de potencia a los 710 cv con los que cuenta esta unidad preparada por IMSA, ha sido logrado mediante mejoras mecánicas, como el empleo de un nuevo intercooler que permita refrigerar el aire que se introduce en los turbocompresores, y mejoras en su gestión electrónica, mediante nuevos mapas motor que permitan extraer todo el jugo al propulsor alemán. Además, con este incremento prestacional, se consigue alcanzar un valor de par motor brutal, aún superior al ya de por sí elevado conseguido en el vehículo de serie; se eleva desde 900 Nm hasta 1080 Nm.
En cuanto a la estética se refiere, un discreto pero bien trabajado paquete aerodinámico es realizado en fibra de carbono y, en conjunción con unas llantas en 21″ alojadas en neumáticos de medidas 255/35R21 en el eje delantero y 295/30R21 en el eje trasero, confieren a esta berlina de representación un aura de deportivo encubierto. En cuanto al interior, numerosas opciones son tenidas en cuenta bajo solicitud del comprador final, incluyendo opciones en cuero, madera o fibra de carbono.
Se trata por tanto de un devorador de Autobahn, una máquina capaz de mantener velocidades de crucero elevadas con el confort y fiabilidad que conserva de su derivado de serie.
