Ayer os hablábamos de las imágenes filtradas antes de tiempo del nuevo Mercedes-AMG C 63, y esta mañana a primera hora los de Stuttgart nos han desvelado por fin de manera oficial su sports saloon.
Mercedes ha querido en esta ocasión hacer al C63 un coche más usable para el día a día que nunca, con un compromiso perfecto entre dinámica y versatilidad, sumado a un motor de altas prestaciones con unos consumos moderados. Será mostrado el 2 de octubre, junto al AMG GT en el salón de París, y llegará al mercado en febrero de 2015 en la carrocería berlina, pues para acceder a la Estate habrá que esperar a abril de 2015.
Se venderá en distintas variantes de carrocería y potencia, en base al mismo bloque V8 del AMG GT. Podremos comprarlo en dos escalones de potencia: el C 63 con 476 caballos y el C 63 S con 510 caballos. Aquí están todos los detalles de ambas motorizaciones, las cifras entre paréntesis pertenecen al Estate:

Mecánica
Hablar de un deportivo de altas prestaciones como el C 63 supone hablar de su mecánica, y Mercedes ha querido hacerlo realmente bien, con un coche que registra el 0-100 km/h en 4 segundos, con unas cifras de 3,4 kg/cv y 3,6 kg/cv, respectivamente. Ambos modelos tienen la velocidad punta limitada electrónicamente a 250 km/h.
En cuanto al consumo, homologa una media de 8,2 litros a los 100 km y unas emisiones de CO2 de 192 g/km en el ciclo europeo NEDC. Sabemos que en la realidad será algo más, pero seguro que al cliente que compre este coche, lo que menos le preocupa es su consumo. A pesar de ello, menos de 10 litros a los 100 por un coche de más de 500 caballos no está nada mal. Según Mercedes estamos ante el V8 más eficiente y potente del mundo, siendo un 32% menos gastón que su antecesor atmosférico V8 de 6,3 litros.
El bloque M178 4.0 V8 biturbo del AMG GT es muy similar al M177 que monta el C 63. Comparte con este la tecnología de la turboalimentación, donde por primera vez se meten los turbos entre la V de las dos bancadas de cilindros, permitiendo así un motor mucho más compacto, una respuesta más directa y menos emisiones contaminantes. Entendemos que éstos estén propiamente aislados térmicamente, ya que las temperaturas tan altas que se alcanzan en esta zona perjudicarían las temperaturas de admisión y así la potencia final.
Este motor también cumple con la norma Euro 6, a pesar de su impresionante sistema de escape, que cuenta con un flap para variar su nivel de ruido. Según el programa que elijamos en el AMG DYNAMIC SELECT, podremos hacer largos y silenciosos viajes o hacer sonar al V8 en todo su esplendor en nuestro momento más quemado.
Pero aún se podrá radicalizar más el sonido del escape gracias al paquete Performance, que nos da tres niveles de ruido, entre los programas Comfort, Sport + y Race, convirtiendo el modo Race a nuestro C 63 en un auténtico coche de carreras, emitiendo unos sonidos guturales en los cambios de marchas o reducciones. Por supuesto, el escape no es el único que se transforma, sino que el tacto del acelerador, la dureza de la dirección o la rigidez de la suspensión también se adaptan según el modo en el que nos encontremos.
Como todo AMG moderno que se precie, el Mercedes-AMG C 63 monta el cambio AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7 de doble embrague, que ahora es mucho más directo y rápido que en la generación anterior, y que por supuesto nos permitirá conducir en modo automático, o en secuencial jugando con las levas en el volante.
C 63 “Edition 1”
Mercedes ahora acostumbra a lanzar una edición especial de lanzamiento en todos sus nuevos AMG, y el C 63 no iba a ser menos. Así pues, el C 63 “Edition 1” estará disponible en el lanzamiento, y trae un paquete de equipamiento exclusivo. Se podrá elegir en seis colores: blanco polar, blanco diamante brillante, plateado iridio metalizado, plata paladio metalizado, negro obsidiana metalizado y el plateado iridio magno. Este será el equipamiento de serie:
– Llantas forjadas de radios cruzados de 19 pulgadas, pintadas en negro mate con un anillo rojo. Ruedas 245/35 R 19 (delante) y 265/35 R 19 (atrás). – Paquete noche (entradas de aire, retrovisores, faldones y cintura en negro brillante; rejilla del radiador de doble ala en cromado, cristales tintados). – Zona del escape del paragolpes en negro cromado. – Detalles en la rejilla del radiador y retrovisores en rojo. – Detalles en gris grafito en las taloneras. – Asientos deportivos, paneles de las puertas y reposabrazos en piel nappa negra, con costuras en rojo. – Volante deportivo en microfibra, con la parte baja achatada y marca en rojo para la parte superior. Irá con un grabado con la inscripción “Edition 1” en el radio inferior y en los pedales de aluminio. – Alfombrillas con el logo de AMG bordado en rojo.
