Mini Cooper azul

Si hay alguna marca caracterizada por mantener una estética en sus vehículos, esa es MINI, una firma que se encarga de conservar una línea “retro” que viene fijada por el primer modelo y que se actualiza tras los años manteniéndose a la vanguardia en tecnología sin renunciar al ADN que les caracteriza.

Está claro que del modelo clásico queda tan solo la esencia, ya que MINI ha actualizado su modelo principal apostando por la incorporación de gadgets propios de un modelo premium, también en cuanto a motorizaciones han sabido mantener un estándar de eficiencia a pesar del aumento en las dimensiones del vehículo.

Gracias a Bernesga Motor, hemos tenido la posibilidad de probar uno de sus modelos, en concreto el Cooper, un modelo con un motor de 136 cv de potencia propulsado por gasolina. Para que os pongáis en situación, a continuación os concretamos las características técnicas del modelo que hemos probado:

  • Motor: 1,5 litros, 12 válvulas, biturbo e inyección directa, L3 gasolina transversal delantero.
  • Potencia: 136 cv a 4.500 r.p.m.
  • Transmisión: Delantera de 6 velocidades
  • Emisiones de CO2: 109 g/km
  • Peso: 1.160 kg
  • 0 a 100 km/h: 7,9 segundos
  • Consumo medio homologado: 4,5 litros/100km
  • Capacidad maletero: 221 litros
  • Largo/Ancho/Alto: 3,821/ 1,727/1,414 metros
  • Capacidad del depósito: 40 litros
  • Precio: Desde 20.550 euros

Exterior

Frontal MINI Cooper

Como os decía al principio del artículo, el ADN de MINI sigue intacto en su nuevo modelo, es un aspecto que la firma británica no está dispuesta a cambiar ya que es un sello identificador de la marca que sirve como reclamo para millones de personas, un reclamo en forma de estética retro que también funciona muy bien en el caso del famoso Fiat 500.

El frontal se caracteriza por las típicas ópticas redondas que en este último modelo también pueden incluir iluminación LED. El capó se ha alargado como consecuencia de la actual legislación de protección de peatones. La calandra es algo que no se ha modificado en exceso con el paso de los años, uno de los signos identificadores junto con lo faros redondeados que no nos hacen dudar de que estamos ante un MINI.

En la parte de atrás podemos ver un llamativo cambio en los faros traseros, que han sido agrandados al estilo del MINI Countryman, aspecto que los hace más toscos que los de su antecesor.

Interior

Consola central y dos guanteras

En el caso del modelo que tuvimos la oportunidad de probar, el interior es más bien sobrio comparado con modelos que disponen de más “juguetitos” y aspectos que denotan distinción a la hora de montarte en un coche, como por ejemplo la tapicería de cuero. Sin embargo, la estética interior del coche mantiene una calidad muy aceptable teniendo en cuenta que se trata de un modelo con escasos extras en el interior.

La tapicería con la que contaba nuestro modelo, como podéis ver en las imágenes, se asentaba en asientos deportivos, combinación de tela polipiel black pearl y carbon black. Ningún lujo, pero sin duda es una opción cómoda en viajes cortos y mucho más económica que los tapizados en piel, en concreto algo más de 1.000 euros de diferencia.

La nueva organización del salpicadero nos ha convencido más que la del modelo anterior, ya que la localización del cuenta revoluciones y cuenta kilómetros es mucho más lógica y queda justo detrás del volante. Sin embargo no nos ha gustado la visibilidad de éstos a través del volante, ya que si eres alto, te va a costar regular el volante de manera que veas a la perfección estos indicadores tan indispensables.

Salpicadero MINI Cooper

La calidad percibida de los materiales es buena, plásticos blandos en el salpicadero, elevalunas cromados en plata y en general los controles que más puedes usar en el día a día están ubicados de una manera lógica e intuitiva para que no te vuelvas loco a buscar cual es el botón que necesitas accionar. A pesar de que decimos que la calidad de el interior del modelo que hemos probado es muy correcta, no dista demasiado con las calidades percibidas en un SEAT Ibiza de última generación, y en este aspecto la marca británica tenía que haber intentado diferenciarse más del resto de marcas, incluso en sus modelos sin muchos extras, por la enorme diferencia de precio que existe.

La consola central dispone de la de una pantalla central multifunción en tres tamaños disponibles, la unidad que probamos llevaba la más sencilla, desde donde puedes gestionar tus llamadas a través del Bluetooth y otras funciones básicas que no os van a sorprender.

Maletero MINI

La capacidad del maletero ha aumentado en este último modelo, sin embargo lo seguimos considerando como una asignatura pendiente, ya que, mientras los rivales directos de este modelo rondan los 300 litros de capacidad, el nuevo MINI se conforma con tan solo 221 litros. Lo que quiere decir que si tienes que llevar una maleta grande lo vas a tener complicado para encajarla dentro, eso sí, puedes prescindir de los asientos traseros plegándolos fácilmente hacia adelante para así aumentar la capacidad del maletero.

Nos ha gustado la cantidad de huecos “porta-objetos” de los que dispone el coche, dos debajo de la consola central, uno en cada puerta lateral y otro justo encima de la guantera. No queremos decir que sea un punto de vital importancia, pero si que es verdad que hay veces que echas de menos en otros modelos algún sitio para poner el móvil o colocar un refresco sin miedo a que se caiga.

El espacio en las dos plazas traseras no es excesivo, si eres alto vas a tener problemas para acceder y acomodarte en la parte de atrás. Sin embargo, para niños y personas de estatura media o baja, las plazas posteriores no deberían plantear ningún problema de comodidad.

Conclusión

Mini Cooper Gasolina 136CV

En definitiva, los principales rasgos en los que difiere de su antecesor son unos faros delanteros más grandes y con tecnología LED, dimensiones en la carrocería ligeramente más grandes, mejor organización del salpicadero y faros traseros de mayor tamaño. MINI no destaca por crear grandes innovaciones para sus modelos, sin embargo no cabe duda de que fabrican unos coches muy correctos que gustan, y mucho, a su público objetivo.

Para captar un número máximo de clientes potenciales, la marca ofrece un montón de opciones de personalización que te permitirán modificar cosas como los adhesivos, luces adicionales, alerones… Que una marca ofrezca muchas opciones de personalización siempre es una ventaja, siempre y cuando el dinero no sea un problema.
