El nuevo piloto del equipo de Caterham de F1, Kamui Kobayashi, ha dado una vuelta en el nuevo Caterham Seven 620 R que podemos ver al final del artículo. Y por sus declaraciones podemos deducir que se ha quedado completamente impresionado del potencial que ofrece esta nueva versión del Caterham Seven.
Para mí, este es un coche puro, todo lo demás es sólo el transporte. La potencia del 620 R es impresionante, no puedo creer que se pueda conducir este coche en la carretera, definitivamente, es lo más parecido a un coche de carreras.
Como ya sabíamos, el Seven 620 R cuenta con un motor sobrealimentado Ford Duratec de 2.000 centímetros cúbicos que produce 311 cv y 296 Nm. Si a esto añadimos que, la bascula se queda en 545 kg gracias a una infinidad de piezas fabricadas en fibra de carbono, no es de extrañar que pueda acelerar de 0 a 100 km/h en menos de 2,8 segundos y alcanzar una velocidad máxima de 250 Km/h.
El coste de este juguete para trackdays, es de 54.824 euros para la versión base, y a partir de ahí, Caterham, ofrece un catálogo de extras, como por ejemplo, extintor, barras antivuelco específicas para circuito, etc. Además, podremos elegir entre una amplia gama de colores para la carroceria característicos de la marca británica.
