En Peugeot siguen renovando toda su gama de coches, y el siguiente en caer ha sido el pequeño de la familia, el Peugeot 108, el cual sustituirá al ya obsoleto 107. Se trata de un utilitario del segmento A, y que quiere ser el más chic de la ciudad, viniendo a competir en el segmento del up!/Mii/Citigo.
Lo más destacable es que podremos elegir entre carrocería cerrada o descapotable —con techo de lona abatible—, el tema de personalización que más nos guste, la ambientación interior y un montón de colores de lo más frescos. Con esto, Peugeot se suma a la moda de los coches personalizables, para que no haya dos 108 iguales.
Pero el 108 también es amigo de nuestro móvil, y gracias a la pantalla táctil y la función de Mirror Screen, podremos proyectar lo que sale en nuestro teléfono sobre la pantalla del coche. También cuenta con equipamientos dignos de segmentos superiores, como la cámara de aparcamiento trasera, el climatizador o el arranque sin llave.
Estamos ante un coche con pensamiento eminentemente urbano, donde callejear por las calles más ratoneras o maniobrar para aparcar sea lo más fácil y efectivo posible. Hablamos de unas dimensiones de 3,47 metros de largo por 1,62 de ancho. Gracias a sus reducidos voladizos, conseguimos un radio de giro de solo 4,80 metros. El maletero cuenta con unos escasos 243 litros de capacidad, pero no podemos pedir mucho más a un pequeño utilitario. Si abatimos los asientos posteriores, ganaremos hasta 868 litros.
A bordo, el 108 dispone de numerosos huecos porta-objetos. La guantera cerrada permite transportar una botella de litro mientras que en los espacios de las puertas cabe otra de medio litro.
Esta vez Peugeot ha decidido prescindir de la disposición tan característica del cuadro de instrumentos de sus hermanos 208 y 308, donde éste va situado ligeramente por encima del volante. Aquí va a la altura habitual, y está comandado por una esfera principal central donde se concentra toda la información.
Motorizaciones y dinámica
Los motores que Peugeot ha puesto a disposición de los usuarios para el 108 son dos pequeños bloques tricilíndricos de gasolina. Por un lado tenemos el 1.0 VTi 68 ETGS, que emite 97 g/km de CO2 y un consumo homologado de 4,2 l/100km. Por otro lado, contamos con el nuevo 1.2 PureTech 82 BVM5, que emite 99 g/km de CO2 y declara un consumo de 4,3 l/100km.
Estos pequeños bloques mueven con soltura los 840 kg del Peugeot 108, los cuales descansan sobre una suspensión delantera pseudo McPherson y una trasera de barra de torsión. Monta neumáticos de baja resistencia a la rodadura 165/65/R14 o 165/60/R15, según versión. El equipo de frenos consta de discos ventilados de 247 mm de diámetro delante y en el eje trasero tambores de 200 mm
Además, como equipamiento de serie lleva el detector de presión de neumáticos, ABS, Asistencia a la Frenada de Emergencia y ESP desconectable. Para los más torpes al volante, el sistema de ayuda al arranque en pendiente les será de grandísima ayuda para evitar que se les cale el motor y se formen largas colas de conductores furiosos pitando sin parar.
En cuanto a precios y disponibilidad Peugeot no ha dicho nada, pero seguro que en cuestión de semanas salimos de dudas.
