Hace más de un mes se presentó en el Salón de París el Volkswagen Polo GTI, y se anunció que pronto saldría a la venta. Pues bien, ese día ha llegado, y ya está disponible en todos los concesionarios, desde 22.850 euros —descuentos no incluidos—. Es el único GTI del grupo VAG que se fabrica en España, concretamente en la planta de Landaben en Navarra, donde salen 300 unidades a la semana.
Su chasis ha sido especialmente puesto a punto para ofrecer un tacto más deportivo, y para ello monta unos amortiguadores electrónicos que permiten regular la dureza de la suspensión, a través del programa Sport Select, que se ofrece en combinación con el Sport Performance Kit.
Su alma GTI emana deportividad por los cuatro costados, en los pasos de rueda ensanchados, y el emblema de GTI con el característico perfil rojo que nace en la parrilla y se extiende hasta los faros. Por primera vez incluye faros full LED en opción, para no quedar atrás con SEAT, que irán incluidos de serie en el Paquete Lanzamiento Polo GTI para las primeras unidades.
Monta llantas de aleación ligera GTI de 17 pulgadas con pinzas de freno pintadas en color rojo y el tren de rodaje deportivo. El alerón trasero de es de diseño GTI, y los faros traseros están ligeramente ahumados en rojo oscuro. En la zona inferior del paragolpes nos encontramos con un difusor en color negro y un tubo de escape doble cromado.
Un interior más tecnológico puesto al día
El Interior también es más GTI que nunca, lleno de detalles y costuras en rojo, que hacen más deportivo al habitáculo. El volante de cuero deportivo deriva del Golf GTI, y el pomo de la palanca de cambios, la empuñadura del freno de mano y los ribetes de las alfombrillas tienen costuras en contraste rojo.
El cuadro de instrumentos también tiene diseño GTI, y el techo interior está tapizado en negro. Los pedales son de aluminio. Entre el equipamiento de serie contamos con un actuador de sonido, el sistema de Detección de Fatiga y el ParkPilot.
En el paquete Lanzamiento Polo GTI se incluye navegador GPS de serie Discover Media, además de llevar la opción de usar MirrorLink para que podamos ver las apps de nuestro teléfono en la pantalla del sistema de infoentretenimiento.
Motor 1.8 TSI: el Polo GTI más potente de la historia
Monta el motor 1.8 TSI de 192 CV, que lo convierte en el Polo GTI más potente de la historia, entregando 12 caballos más que su predecesor. El par máximo se queda en 320 Nm, que lo catapultan hasta 236 km/h, y hace el 0-100 km/h en 6,7 segundos, solo 0,3 segundos menos que el Polo R WRC.
El consumo queda a ralla homologando tan solo 5,6 l/100 km en ciclo mixto y unas emisiones 129 g/km de CO2 a la atmósfera —son 0,3 litros y 10 g/km menos que su predecesor—. La potencia queda gestionada por la caja de cambios automática DSG de 7 velocidades, siendo también posible elegir un cambio manual de 6 velocidades. De nuevo se ofrece el Polo GTI manual, pero el consumo sube hasta los 6,0 litros y las emisiones hasta 139 g/km.
