Hace unas semanas Volvo nos mostraba algunas de las novedades de su nuevo XC90, y a poco tiempo de poder conocerlo en vivo, nos llega una filtración desde Autoblog.nl de la galería oficial completa de la segunda generación del Volvo XC90.
A los suecos se les ha acabado el factor sorpresa, aunque esto no es nada nuevo, y no será la primera vez que se filtren las imágenes oficiales de un modelo a escasos días u horas de que la marca lo presente oficialmente, así que no nos extrañaría ver mañana la presentación oficial en forma de nota de prensa.
En cuanto al diseño exterior, no hay nada demasiado extravagante o novedoso, y sigue siendo muy continuista, con la forma que ya nos habían mostrado para los faros de iluminación diurna, como signo distintivo de la marca. También podemos ver como nos ofrecerán un paquete off-road con defensas y pasos de rueda de plástico sin pintar, para aquellos que sean más camperos y quieran evitar arañar la pintura.
En el interior sí que apreciamos un profundo rediseño, y los materiales premium y los tactos exquisitos se ven a simple vista, donde se ve el grandísimo trabajo que ha hecho el fabricante para llevar al XC90 a un nivel de lujo donde pocos fabricantes pueden llegar. En el centro del salpicadero vemos la gran pantalla vertical, que ya pudimos ver hace meses cuando Apple presentó CarPlay, y que pasa a comandar todo el coche, dejando a la vista la mínima cantidad de botones posibles.
Seguramente hasta finales de 2015 o principios de 2016 no veamos este modelo llegar a la calle, y será eso sí el primer modelo de Volvo en estar construido bajo la plataforma modular SPA que el fabricante sueco desarrolló.
En cuanto a las mecánicas, sabemos que arrancarán con motores de cuatro cilindros diesel y gasolina, e incluso habrá una variante eléctrica. El motor T8 Hybrid contará con un bloque 2.0 turboalimentado de gasolina, que junto con el motor eléctrico de 80 caballos sobre el eje trasero, tendremos una potencia combinada de 400 caballos. El motor D5 diesel tendrá dos variantes, ambas biturbo, con 190 y 225 caballos.
