El Volvo V40 Cross Country recibe novedades dentro de su gama. A principios de año Volvo presentaba el motor T5 de 245 caballos para el V40 normal; pues bien, ahora también está disponible en la variante campera, con la capacidad de elegirlo con tracción total.
Así, el V40 se convierte en un pequeño pero potente SUV, que gracias a su altura más elevada que el modelo normal y la tracción total, sumado al potente motor T5, lo convierten en un buen candidato a meterse por terrenos complicados, sin llegar a tener aptitudes todoterreno. De lo que sí estamos seguros es que se comportará mucho mejor que los SUVebordillos de tracción delantera con ruedas de carretera enormes.
Este motor T5 es capaz de entregar un par máximo de 350 Nm, al cual se le puede acoplar una caja de cambios automática de 8 velocidades con levas en el volante, que nos permitirá ser más ahorradores que con el cambio manual de seis velocidades.
Comparado con el T5 de anterior generación, este nuevo bloque en el mismo V40 Cross Country reduce sus emisiones de CO2 hasta 149 g/km, siendo el mejor de su clase. Pues el Audi Q3 TFSI Quattro emite 179 g/km, el BMW X1 xDrive20i emite 170 g/km, o el Mercedez Clase B 220 Sport 4MATIC DCT, que emite 156 g/km.
Además, el nuevo V40 Cross Country equipa llantas de 19 pulgadas, que ahora son menos ruidosas y se han diseñado para evitar bordillazos aparcando. También se ha mejorado el sistema de infoentretenimiento, el Sensus Connect de Volvo.
Estas novedades llegarán a mitad de otoño en Europa, en cuestión de semanas. Al resto del mundo aún tardará algunos meses en llegar.
